This is NOT a regular book club. K-5 students will learn about Black History from a certified secondary social science educator, and the various books we read together, and be challenged with questions and text analyses that are aligned with Common Core standards, as well as a deeper reflection of their identity and purpose. Children will be given the tools to build racial and cultural esteem, as well of the importance of working collectively to achieve our purpose as a community. Non-Black student will learn the tenants of effective allyship and strengthen their scope of diversity and creative critical thinking. Additionally, this course prepare students for middle and high school, and build their esteem and expand their career goals.

I look forward to teaching you and your child. Please select the option that works best for you and let me know if you have any questions by emailing me at info@ernestcrim.com

*Please note, that not every book we will actually be on a banned list, HOWEVER every book will touch on race and Black History in a way that it would likely be banned in a district or start that has banned CRT.
