Where do we go from here?

This question was first posed by Dr. King in 1967, in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement, and it's a question we must also consider AND answer in 2024, heading in to 2025, on the heels of another election victory by Donald Trump.

A few things to consider:

• This is the third session, of a community-centered Black History course that has been delivered to leaders from Chicago's Englewood community. So far, we have discussed African history, as well as the origins of enslavement.
• Due to recent events, however, the focus will be the histories of enslavement rebellions, the Reconstruction period, the Nadir and the Civil Rights Movement. Essentially, we will devise strategies that we can employ immediately, based on how our ancestors responded in those moments.
• This is an urgent meeting and all who have a vested interest in our community are welcome. Please only come if you are serious. Trolls will be removed.
• This private session will be $10 (minimum - you can give more if you like). A portion of these proceeds will be used to support the Black community in Englewood, Chicago.
• I will send you a ZOOM link as the date approaches. You will also have access to the recording afterwards.
